Dietitians play a critical role in helping people optimise their food choices to achieve their personal goals. A Dietitian can educate you on the foods that you should increase and the foods to decrease in your diet to help you achieve your specific goal and/or manage any health conditions - all while still allowing you to have flexibility and enjoyment in your life when it comes to food.
Our Dietetic team provides services to clients in a range of areas including NDIS & the community setting such as home visits and home care, Aged Care, Childcare and within Our clinic which covers all ages. Meaning we can help everyone. Talk to us today to unlock the Power of Nutrition with Insights from Expert Dietitians.

OSCAR Dietitians are accredited – what does this mean?
Accredited Practising Dietitians (APDs) in Australia are registered nutrition professionals who have completed a recognised tertiary qualification in nutrition and dietetics, undergone practical training, and are committed to ongoing professional development. This sounds like a lot, and it is!
Our Dietitians have studied for a minimum of 4 years at university to have a specific skill set to assist our clients. And as an APD, we are regulated by Dietitians Australia (DA), which is the National Association for Dietitians.
Why is this important?
This is important for OSCAR Care Group clients as APD’s must adhere to the professional standards set by Dietitians Australia, which govern their conduct, competence, and ethical behaviour. This ensures that Dietitians working with OSCAR Care Group are providing high-quality, evidenced-based nutrition advice and services to their clients.
APD’s are also required to engage in ongoing professional development to maintain their accreditation. This includes attending conferences, workshops, and seminars, as well as keeping up to date with the latest research and evidenced-based practices in nutrition and dietetics.
We are passionate about working with a range of clients, and we are thankful that we have the opportunity to do this.
“I'm passionate about helping people achieve their health goals with nutritional strategies that they actually enjoy.” - Hannah Errington, OSCAR Dietitian in SA
Dietitians working with NDIS participants
Dietitians have a crucial role in supporting people living with a disability to promote nutrition and support independence. We can do this by working collaboratively with the client to establish achievable nutrition goals tailored to their individual needs and preferences.
For NDIS participants with complex medical conditions, disabilities or special dietary requirements, OSCAR dietitians provide specialised nutrition interventions and support.
We can also develop personalised meal plans and assist with food preparation strategies to ensure the participant has access to nutritious and culturally appropriate foods that meet their dietary needs and preferences.
Dietitians also enjoy working with the rest of the health care team, including support workers, and services involved in their client’s care to ensure coordinated support. We are also great advocators for clients’ specific nutritional needs and provide reports and recommendations based on these needs.

Dietitians working in aged care settings

Dietitians working in childcare
OSCAR Care Group Dietitians play an essential role in the childcare setting by promoting healthy eating habits and collaborating with childcare centres in numerous ways. These include developing balanced and nutritious menus, providing nutrition education to childcare staff, parents, and caregivers, and offering guidance and support on feeding practices, and strategies for introducing new foods and textures to young children.
Mealtimes can be a stressful time for some families, and parents can become overwhelmed by common eating challenges such as picky eating, food refusal, and mealtime distractions. Our team of Dietitians can provide evidenced-based recommendations to promote positive mealtime experiences.
OSCAR Care Group Dietitians are also invaluable in assisting childcare centres in managing food allergies and intolerances among children by developing allergy management plans, educating staff on allergen avoidance and cross-contamination prevention, and implementing strategies to accommodate children with specific dietary restrictions.
Our Dietitians work closely with parents and healthcare providers to ensure that children with allergies receive appropriate dietary support and supervision.
