What is a food safety supervisor?
A food safety supervisor is someone who:

-
is trained to determine and prevent food handling risks at your premises.
-
has the knowledge, capability and authority to supervise other workers to ensure safe food handling
-
has a Statement of Attainment meaning they are capable and qualified to fulfill required food safety competencies
Aged Care & Childcare Food Safety Supervisor training
All Class 1 and most Class 2 premises must have a food safety supervisor. This is a requirement under s. 19C of the Food Act 1984.
In NSW, VIC, QLD and ACT, it is a mandatory requirement to have at least one Food Safety Supervisor on your staff at all times. The food safety supervisor doesn’t have to be on the premises at all times. However, they must know how food is being handled when they are not.
We have targeted our Food Safety Supervisor course for Food Handlers in the Hospitality or Health and community service sector. Suitable for people working within Aged Care facility, Childcare centre, Kindergartens, Disability services, Hospitals, Meals on wheels and Outside School Hours Care.
