What a year it has been for OSCAR Care Group! With only a few days left of 2022, our amazing Managing Director, Nicole takes a moment to reflect on a year it was.
OSCAR Care Group crept into 2022 with hesitation and a sense of ‘what next’ as Victoria came out of a 6th Lockdown which stretched for 78 days. This business had seen 2 years of rescheduling, cancellations, remodelling, replanning and a degree of uncertainty as a result of the pandemic. We were supported by amazing staff and clients during that time but the thought in the back of our mind, ‘Was 2022 going to be different?’. Luckily it was.
We started the year with a few key staff changing their own personal direction which led to the recruitment of some talented and incredible people. This opened the business to broader thoughts, plans and support networks across the Aged Care and Child Care sectors.
Our Operations team have enjoyed the opportunity to conduct face-to-face Food Safety and IDDSI training again with facilities resuming contact. On the other hand, our virtual training session have become such an import part of our training offering. Virtual Live training provides our clients the opportunity to support their facilities and centres and their staff in this world of flexibility and change.
Food Safety Auditing has become even more important with our health and wellbeing critical this year for our residents and children. Our Food Safety Auditing offering has grown significantly across Australia becoming the Auditors of choice.
Our NDIS service offerings have grown in leaps and bounds assisting registered Providers and their Participants with Therapeutic Support and Gardening services. We submitted our own application in December 2022 to become a Registered Provider. This was a huge feat for the team with an exciting 2023 ahead in the NDIS space. Therapeutic Supports, Assisted Travel, Garden and Home Maintenance and Plan Management among the registration groups that will be achieved.
With our ongoing commitment to the Nutrition and Health of our elderly community, we are pleased to have a record number of resident visits in 2022. Our Allied Health team have seen amazing results in this space, which will continue to grow in 2023.
In November, we ventured into the world of Private Practice! By opening a room in the SIA Medical centre in Mulgrave offering Dietetics, Speech Pathology and Physiotherapy direct to the public. A huge part of our Strategic Plan achieved within an amazing medical group.
So what now for 2023?
OSCAR Care Group is 15 years old in 2023! Happy birthday to us! We are incredibly excited for a successful and healthy 2023 for our staff, our clients and the business. We really feel like 2022 was the year to put the puzzle pieces back together from COVID and now 2023 will be the year to come out of the pandemic and concentrate and what we do best.
