About the event

The most common reason to refer to a Speech Pathologist for Dementia patients is dysphagia however we can help with more. Speech Pathologists play a vital role in the care of dementia related communication and swallow difficulties. Up to 70% of individuals with dementia will experience changes to their swallowing, and 100% of those with dementia will face changes in their communication. 

During this webinar, we'll cover swallowing and communication changes that may present as Dementia progresses, as well as providing some strategies to assist with communication, and swallowing to assist those who care for someone with dementia. Presented by Mikaela Papadimitriou, Certified Practising Speech Pathologist for OSCAR Care Group.
