Virtual Education Session

About the event

We’re proud to announce that we’re holding another FREE Nutritional Education Session for Residential Aged Care homes. This topic is, Feeding Assistance.

About the topic

Did you know that providing assistance to anyone who requires support to eat and drink safely can help maximise a resident’s oral intake, reduce weight loss and risk of malnutrition?

Feeding assistance forms a large component of the new The Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards (1 November 2025).  Providing physical assistance to support older people with eating and drinking is falls under Standard 6: Food and Nutrition - Outcome 6.4: Dining experience (Action 6.4.1).

Assistance at mealtimes can be a great way to assist residents with finishing meals.  Discover the various types of assistance (such as supervision, cutting meals and full assistance), why residents may require assistance during mealtimes (such as dementia, arthritis, dysphagia or poor vision) and helpful Dietitian tips to enhancing nutrition.

Join us for in-depth education session with Dietitian, Peter Woon, and “Be an opener of doors” to best support residents with their nutrition and dining experience – Ralph Waldo Emerson. We look forward to seeing you then!
